Cultural Capital

 What is Cultural Capital?

Cultural capital is the essential knowledge that children need to prepare them for their future success. It is about giving children the best possible start to their early education in order that . we can start to make a real difference to a child’s learning now and in the future.

Our Nurture Nursery provides high quality education which ensures that all children have the opportunity to experience the awe and wonder of the world around them. We recognise that every child is a unique and that they are constantly learning and developing. Using the EYFS curriculum we actively promote and encourage children to be resilient, capable, confident and self-assured.

Our curriculum ensures children have the best possible start. They have access to high quality learning experiences which combine child initiated play and enhanced adult led interactions. We carefully plan activities to ignite each individual's curiosity and give children opportunities which they have not yet had.

We value the ‘cultural capital’ that everyone brings to the setting and celebrate the diversity and  uniqueness of all, valuing the cultures of the children and their wider families. Nurture Nursery staff build positive relationships with families, this helps them to recognise and understand the experiences each child has already had and what they need to do to extend on this.

We believe that as practitioners the best way to teach and ensure our children have the best possible opportunities to develop and flourish is to become their partners in play.
