2 YEAR PROGRESS CHECKS

Every child who attends our Nurture Nursery will receive a two year progress check three months after starting with us. This is undertaken in partnership with parents. Parents complete a short questionnaire to tell us all about their child in the home environment and then staff compile short written summary of the child’s development in the three prime areas of the EYFS: Personal, Social and Emotional  Development; Communication and Language and Physical Development.

The two year progress check aims to enable parents to understand the child’s needs and, with support from practitioners, enhance development at home.

Parent are advised to take the completed progress check to their child’s progress check appointment with the Health Visiting team.

The Two Year Progress check forms part of the child's Two Year Development Review with Warwickshire's Health Visiting Service.

Why is there a progress check at age two?
Our progress checks identify areas where the child is progressing well, and also identify any areas where progress is less than expected.

The progress check celebrates children's achievements and enables earlier identification of development needs so that additional support can be put in place, if required. This support may be in the setting or may involve outside agencies.
