Welcome to St Michael’s Church of England Academy website.

St Michael’s is a vibrant and successful school and children’s centre where the education, health, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our children and families, is at the heart of everything we do.

In the classroom the teaching and learning is of the highest standard and this is reflected in the progress all our children are making. Our reputation in the teaching of maths mastery continues to grow as we work with schools across the country and in China. We have supported over 20 schools this year to develop their maths teaching.

The children’s attitude to learning is something we are very proud of and is often commented upon by visiting teachers. St Michael’s is full of resilient, hard-working children who enjoy being challenged. We believe in providing our children with the skills and attitude they will need to succeed in an ever changing world.

Through our regular collective worship we celebrate our Christian values. Children are encouraged to reflect on the choices we all have to make in life and are encouraged to respect and value the world around them.

St Michael’s PE teaching is of the highest standard and this is supported by some of the best facilities in the county. Our 3G pitch now has brilliant floodlights and the children have loved the new basketball posts. This excellence in sport has again been recognised by School Games who have awarded us their highest award the GOLD mark.

This kind of success does not happen by chance. It is happening here because parents, children and staff are all working together; From the Children’s Centre with our outstanding Nursery and Community Cafe, through to Year 6 and beyond. We are growing into a community of learners, who take responsibility for the world around them and are striving to improve it for all.

Thank you to everyone for their continuing support of St Michael’s.
