TAPESTRY
Nurture Nursery use Tapestry to create an ‘online learning journal’ for all the children. Tapestry builds a unique record of a child’s experiences, development, and learning. It can be accessed with a computer, laptop or Apple and Android device such as a tablet or smart phone. Tapestry is a safe and secure system which enables parents and carers to access their child’s learning journey at any time.
Tapestry records observations, assessments, photos and videos and also provides an opportunity for parents and carers to instantly comment and add their own observations to their own child’s journal. A great benefit of this system is that parents can show their child’s journal to members of the family. The advantage of Tapestry is that staff, along with the child’s parents, develop a story of the child. Tapestry works seamlessly to enable these memories to be kept as a permanent record of each child’s special journey.
This helps to provide a strong partnership and good communication between the setting and home. Each child’s learning journal will go home when they have finished their time with us.
Alongside Tapestry we also complete a paper copy journal, this documents the wonderful experiences the children have in Nurture Nursery. These journals are freely available for children to look at in Nurture Nursery.
The safeguarding of our children is very important to us. Everything that is added to Tapestry will be added to our Nurture Nursery account and can only be viewed by yourself and a limited number of Nurture Nursery staff that use this system. Via a secured login, you will be the only people who have access to your child’s journal.
